I hope you're getting a very good deal on this. To me it seems kind of risky buying something so expensive without looking at it yourself. Was the mechanic a friend or someone you hired or someone that the seller recommended/provided. Obviously use some sort of middle man for the payment transaction and title transaction. I seen some previous discussions on either this board or the e34 board concerning shipping a car from Florida to New York or some other place up North. You could try a search of the archieves in both of these boards. I think the choice discussed was shipping it by rail or getting a car transportation company to handle it. The other option is for you to go and get it and drive it back. Any way you go the transportation costs should be factored into your purchase price. Good luck.
I'm considering purchasing a 1992 BMW 325is from an auction on ebay. Has anyone done anything like this before? Any suggestions for how to handle this process? I would not be able look at the car prior to having it shipped to me, but I have spoken with a mechanic that looked it over and he said the only thing he would recommend is to have the water pump replaced. Any recommondations on how to ship the car? Thanks for any help you can give.
