Depending on how much you like to drive, you might like or hate this car. I got it because it was sitting in the garage after sis went to college. Too bad mine is auto but it is still fun. I would say that this car is fun. It definitely is NOT fast but it will get you places safe enough. The best thing about this car (especially sport model) is the handling capabilities. I think that in the long run I am going to be glad that I had this before an M3 because I am learning how cars handle and this car handles exceptionally well for a low end bimmer. I think it handles better than my friend's coupe bimmers. anyways, if you are looking for a fast car this is not it but neither is the golf. But handling wise, go with this because it will kill any golf around turns. It is fun. Also get it in stick. I was not lucky enough to have that option. If I was the first born I would have been driving a 97 M3 right now but tough luck for me. If I were you I'd totally push a 96 M3 or something because they are so much faster but you'd get crap from everyone on this board because you are so young. Also insurance would be a bitch. People will tell you that M3's will get you tickets. Guess what? Even this slow 318ti of mine has gotten me 2 tickets. Acceleration has nothing to do with speeding tickets. It is the speed you are cruising at and this car can go 80 on a local road just like an M3 can. But I don't know. If it is your very first car it might not be a wise choice because it is too much hp for how little you know about cars and handling on wet turns. I still get in trouble with my car and I think I am a pretty defensive driver. Well good luck with your decision. I'm sure you'll do fine with this car. It is definitely worth the test drive. Later dude.
