The WRX will be out in the spring '01. AWD and 227 hp. Autoweek and some of the European car magazines have driven it and love it. I think of it as an ix successor.

As much as the WRX intrigues me, I would go with a used 328i with warranty still on it. It will still feel new and be much more refined than the new cars you are considering.

The VR6 felt fat and wallowy, but the 1.8T had a good feel to it. Not terribly impressed with either though, and the front-drive this isn't much fun at all. Will try a prelude tomorrow...Any other ideas?
