From what I found out from using it,If you reset the check engine light, you will be able to get a fault code. You need to have the check engine light ON, read the fault code and then reset the light. This tool is well worth it. It also resets the oil and service interval lights. Not bad for 149.00.

Do you have to wait for a check engine light to get any info? I am currently trying the blik method (turn on key, push the throttle down 5 times within 5 seconds and wait for the check engine light to flash the fault codes). Unfortunately nothing ever flashes. My car doesn't run and I still don't get any flashes. I am thinking of getting the reader to help me diagnose this problem that has me stumped.

Chris

I have one. Works great on both my 95 325i and 96 m3.It will read all the codes from 87 on.

For OBD1? I am thinking of getting a Peak research reader. Your thoughts.

Chris
