turn the key 45 degrees to lock, & a further 45 to deadlock (to horizontal position then let go back to vertical).
I know what you're saying about them being electric - I hear it engage then I release the key back to vertical.
On the compact, it wouldn't let me turn the key to 90 degrees (horizontal) which is why I asked if these cars deadlock.
