Don't be using rubbing compound unless a) its a last resort and b)you know what you're doing. You can seriously F-up the paint.

Try some other things first...like 3M hand glaze. If that doesn't work move on to body clay using a good amount of lubrication (i.e McGuire's #36 wax or something like that). Autosol has a kit in the new BMP catalog.
