In Reply to: Reiger or M3 Kit w/ LTW addons ?? help me posted by E \/ O on February 25, 2001 at 20:17:48:

first off I'd like to say M3 with LTW add-ons only if they are the real LTW parts. My personal opinion with Reiger is that the bottom part is too fat. It looks like a normal M3 bumper that got pushed up a bit and then a fatter lip added on the bottom. I don't think that the front flows nicely at all with the rest of the car in terms of mouldings and lines. And I think that it is too low for the front. The M3 bumper with the LTW add-on is the perfect height as well as very functional at high speeds. I retracting lip is a big plus in my opinion. You will not have as big of a problem with hitting things and if you have cash flow think about if you damage the reiger as opposed to the M3 LTW lip. You would need to replace the whole bumper if you damaged the Reiger and that would cost a lot but if you damage your ltw lip you could maybe just get a new one but it does cost a crapload still. I still haven't seen a front bumper I like more than the stock M3. It was designed with the rest of the car in mind and a hell of a job was done. It looks so nice. I just don't think Reiger adds up. Also consider what Reiger makes their products with. I know that my M bumper is damn stong. one time I nailed giant curb with it and it totally held up. It happens so that the whole fron bumper bent in about half a foot into my wheel well but it bounced right back out and barely scratched the bottom of it. I don't think that many aftermarket bumpers can withstand that kind of abuse. Ya I was in a hurry that is why I hit the curb parking. hehe. Get the M3 kit. Just don't badge it M3 or anything.
