Yes use a rinse aid.

Its not certified by bimmer but it works :-)

Its the stuff they put in diswashers so that you don't end up with streaks on the dishes. Just put 5-6 drops in a bucket of water and chuck it over the car. It modifies the mineral ions in the water so they dont leave spots.

I guess the safest way if you are loaded is to wash the car with distilled water. This can get rather expensive.
