I have a 318i with the M44. I got a filter kit for the Z3 from Bavarian and it fit well. It sounded nice but the performance effect was marginal. I just finished a heat shield I made from sheet metal and heat insulation...DAMN! it works great, above 3000 rpms its a different car, and it cost $15 to make.
