I thought about it too. I finally saved enough pennies to get a kick-@$$ BMW, and I had 2 options.

I can get a not-so-old E36 coupe for about $15K and spend about another $15K to get it souped up enough to take on a moderately fixed up M3 and save on the insurance $$. The inspiration for this is a girl I met a few months ago who happens to have a highly tuned 318is. It had a Euro spec M3 engine with a supercharger, and a bunch of other goodies. She claims that she can keep up with a viper.

I later decided against it because the E46 look kinda grew on me and I started to like it. Needless to say I didn't like it at first. I thought it looked like a baby 740, not that the 740 is bad. I'll do a few minor things, like an exhaust, perhaps a short shifter and lightweight 18 rims to start. Perhaps after 18-24 months of driving it, I'll add a supercharger, hopefully it will be available by then. The only problem is that the dealer wont get the car until August. Also Im scared to see the insurance cost...VERY SCARED!

I guess what Im trying to say is...yes, I would get an E46 if money is not an issue. The new 325 is a pretty darn good car too. I sometimes wish I got that instead...
