The rear wheel drive just isn't as good in the snow as front wheel drive, and takes a bit more skill and practice to keep pointing in the right direction.
I know that proper snow tires (not all-season) and extra weight in the trunk will help, but I haven't tried it.
Having said that, I am still very happy with the E36 overall.
P.S. We don't get very much snow in Southern Ontario.
I owned a '94 325is previously in Dallas, Texas. I'm living in New Hampshire now and looking at finding a car (the old 325 got destroyed by psychotic pick-up truck drivers).
I was wondering what people's experiences have been with 3 series cars (E36) in the snow/ice.
I'm also considering A4s since I can get either front-wheel or four-wheel drive, but considering sticking with BMW since the cars (all of them I've had) have been so great.
Any input appreciated. I would also appreciate if you could copy responses to my email (ahaig@warped-reality.com).
Thanks
