Have you washed and oiled the air filter at all? All intakes are pretty much the same, it's the filter that matters, and having a heatshield. If you don't have a heatshield, you are probably losing HP because you're drawing hot air into the engine. So get just the heatshield (if you're clever you can build one for a few bucks) and then the chip. From what I've heared most of the chips are about the same.

Hi, I have a 1992 BMW 325i, I was wandering which one to go with a performance chip by AA or JC or the ECIS intake? Any ideas on which one to go with first. I have a K&N filter cone that came with the car when I purchase it, but that was in 1996, ITs a no name brand there is a small black metal tube that connects to the cone K&N. Would the ECIS be any different peformance wise and sound wise? Any tips.
