Could be a defective slip ring where the airbag is mounted to the wheel ($125). If it's the control unit, figure $800-1000. Mine was the latter. My tech dimmed the light. Wear seatbelt at all times. That alone gives you a 40% chance of survival in a front-ender. The airbag only affords you an additional 5%. Not worth it.
