Like JG said. Figure out what's happening with your current set up before you go changing things. When you see guys at an autocross fussing over tire pressure it's for a reason. Take notes. For each run note the pressure before and after the run and how the car handled. The tires will heat up during the run increasing the pressure slightly. Well, slightly can be enough to change the handling characteristics. You'll eventually find out what works for your car and tires.
