Siemens GPS Navigator (archive)

I have a '99 MB ML430 with the dealer-installed Siemens navigator. There has not been a new map release since 1999, and MB keeps putting it off (now this September). I suspect it's because so few were installed (MB shifted to an Alpine-based system) and they don't feel like spending the money to marry the newer Navtech maps to the Siemens softwear. Since the BMW 3 series uses the same system, I was wondering what was its owners' experience. What is the date of your latest release? Please e-mail me.
