My wife's clutch has been giving her problems for a few months (slipping/hard shifting) and I decided to replace it. I pulled the trans and clutch and to my surprise the disk doesn't seem that worn.
It is 0.36" thick and the replacement I got is only 0.39". Not much difference. My manual says that the disk should be good down to 0.29".

My concern is maybe the flywheel is screwed. It is different then most I have seen. I think it is called a dual mass flywheel. It seems to turn a little even if I hold the toothed wheel in place. Is this normal? What is the likely hood that that contraption is slipping instead of the actual clutch?

I would hate to put it back together just to have to pull it apart again.

Thanks,
DaveW
