Question: Central Locking Mechanism (archive)

My girlfriend just bought a 93 325i today, and we have a slight problem. when we unlock the driver's door, it immediatly locks back, leaving only about 1 second to open the door before doing so. It seems to have a mind of its own... often doing the opposite of what the rest of the doors do. Occasionally, the trunk lock seems also to not follow the rest. Any suggestions/ideas on what this could be? Is there a relay or something that i need to replace, or what?
