sits on the extreme rear of the unit, pointing directly back & about midway up on the vertical. Hard to miss, actually - maybe yours is caked in grease. The drain plug's obv. on the bottom.

You fill it up to bottom of hole.


I can't locate the filler plug
for the final drive of my BMW 318i, 1992.
I have two different work shop maunals,
but the is no picture of the final unit,
explaining where to fill the fluid.

I am usually not an idiot, but the authors
of the books obviously think it is easy
to understand which of the many nuts is the filler plug.
Nothing looks like a filler plug to me.
