HVAC fan speed (archive)

Have a 94 325i. The HVAC (Heating/AC) fan is at the same speed in position 1 and 2. In position 3 it speeds up and in positon 4 it is at MAX. I'm guessing I have a burned out resistor assembly, but anyone else have a better idea?
