325i noticeable difference over 318i? (archive)

Hi, I currently own a 1995 318i in automatic. The car is a real dog, which is why i'm looking for something a little quicker. My question is: If I upgrade to a 325i, will I notice a difference in acceleration and power in general? I've never driven a 6 cylinder car, so I don't know how it will compare to the 4cyl I have now. How does the 325i compare to other company's 6 cylinder cars?
