Ok so ive got this weird sounding noise. When im freeway driving and i downshit to third (AT) to get some more speed, there is a strange noise and seemingly loss of power once i get into the 4-5k rpm range. For example, im crusing at 70 and shift to third. I crank RPMs to 4000 and the car kind of sputters or "farts" if you will. The rpms jiggle a bit and then it takes off like it should. It feels as if im driving over rumble strips (the wake up things on the side of the freeway) and i used to think thats what it was til I realized is was happening every time i accelled hard. Anyway, it has the same vibration sensation as rumble strips. Then I try to do it again to figure out exactly what and where it happens and I cant duplicate it. Like its an exhaust backup or something and I now have a clear exhaust so it runs fine. Overall, weird vibe/sound at 4-5k in third and sometimes second. Any ideas? I have a Dinan exhaust so I doubt theres a problem there. I have yet to ask my mechanic, which I will do on Tues when i get insp II done. Thanks in advance, sorry for long post. -Dane
