That is way off. The M3 E36 brakes far surpass the stock 328i brakes and even the 330i E46 brake systems. Don't go by brake rotor diameter people, look at the size of the calipers and the fact that E36M3 rotors are over an inch thick as well as directionally vented for heat dissipation! I just saw a post above for an excellent price on an M3 brake parts for sale post and it is an excellent price. You'll need new rotors, calipers, carriers, hubs/spindles, and new bearings. The rears are also bigger and directionally vented. E46 brakes are completely whimpy in comparison - I have the E36M3 brakes front and rear on my Dinan 3 and use them at the track frequently.
Don't "waste" your time and money with the M3 setup. Go to zionsville autosport and look at their page on fitting the E46 328 brakes. They are just as good, and a direct bolt on. Can do the rears too.
I dunno if the 330Ci brakes will fit or not, but might be worth a phone call...
Steve
anyone done this conversion? my standard brakes have had a hammering from the use of them on my track days and was looking at upgrading them. simple or hard? or do i just go to the movit (porsche 911TT brakes) upgrade? i track the car regularly at a track that is hard on brakes.
