I believe you are talking about auto tranny, rite. I know not much mechanical shit about tranny, but I am driving 1995 325i, first own. For sure, 3rd to 2rd will have shudder unless you are in low speed, that's obvious. I don't quite understand why you can feel extremely smooth when 2nd to 1st? you mean as low as 10mph? I don't think you need any whatever tranny fluid change, coz the $tealer never asked me to.

so if you want get rid of that, maybe try those aftermarket tranny chips, but don't think it will have perfect shift for sure.
