Rear Subframe problem??? (archive)

Ok, so I traded my 88 325i for a 93 325i yesterday. Perfect car except for a couple things: one of them is that when shifting--mainly from 1st to 2nd--the rear end makes a thump. Now, this occurs when I shift, even before I engage the clutch. Someone posted a few messages below about rear subframe mounts or something? Is this related? If so, what all goes into fixing it (parts, cost, if you know), and if not, what is it????
