Low beam failure (archive)

I just installed some euro ellipsoid headlights in my 325is. I wasn't satisfied with the factory headlight wiring since it's a bit small for the amount of current that headlights draw, so I added some relays and ran heavier gauge wire to the lights. But now the OBC reports "low beam failure". I'm guessing that it's reading the relay coil as an open circuit since it has significantly higher resistance than a 9006 light bulb. I've also heard of people having the same problem with installing HID lights. Does anyone have any ideas how to trick the OBC into not thinking the bulb is out?
