people with the HID get the low beam failure because of the fact that the bulbs only run 35 watts compared to the 55 watts stock. i have the ellipsoids as well and get no problems with the OBC. the problem is probably because of the heavier gauge wire that you are using and the current is not strong enough to register to the OBC.
