told by knowledgable folks at the time of purch 8 yrs ago ( in US ) that 4clys =hood, 6cyls=trunk for weight distribution.

My car is a Japanese market E36 and has a trunk mounted battery. I understand UK E36ers might have their batteries under the bonnet (hood). What about the USA and Canada, it's the trunk for you guys right?
