Need used pair of calipers for vented rotors (archive)

I have a 1996 318ti and it doesn't have stock vented rotors. I ordered some rotors and they sent me vented ones and when I tried to put them on I found that the caliper wasn't wide enough to fit the pads and the rotor between it. Is it true that I can buy a pair of calipers from another E36 that has vented rotors and just swap mine for them? If so does anyone have any? If no one does then where can I find some. They cost $185 new per rotor and I don't have that kind of cash. If I can't find any then I'm going to just return the rotors and get non-vented ones.
