I am in Canada and my car is US spec...it made it into Canada because it has a US salvage title and is a stolen recovery. There is not much to do to the car aside from daytime running lights. The expense however is high, GST/PST and duty (8% roughly). Plus inspections, federal and provincial.

The big question is why? With exchange these days a Canadian car is much less expensive then a US car, even without taxes and duty....I would only do it if it's an older car you can't find rust-free in Canada.

I have done it and so have a few friends, it's a huge hassle. And don't even think of using a fake bill to lower the tax value. They go by the book, (a frind just paid duty on $30 grand on a Cuda convertible...customs knows the values).

Also be carefull, talk to customs, certain cars need big modificatons, some are not allowed at all (this includes not only euro spec M cars but for example Audi A4 wagons)
Just wondering what exactly you have to do to bring a car across from the U.S. to Canada... What kinda paperwork is involved?? and how much will it cost to bring it across the border??

Thanks....
