Just wanted to share this (c:

I had a lil bit of time tonight, with the air temps raising to simular levels when the car was last tuned, I decided to go for a GTEC run.

The first run was pretty good. The launch could have been better. I bogged down a little when I dropped it into first. I ran the rpms to the 7200 limit so the blow off valve went off just as I changed. 2nd gear did the same and I'm looking over to the GTEC as I switch to third. The numbers are running wild and it ends up flashing at me 6.3.

2nd run had a slightly better launch. The wheels just squeeled for a split second. Same result, 6.3 seconds.

I wasn't too excited with the time cause I kind of knew I could beat my record. Last week I hit my previous 6.4 record with my friend in the car during the day, going uphill when I demonstrated the GTEC.

I know I can do better. My clutch is starting to show signs on wear and my other biggest problem is traction during launch.

None the less, 6.3 seconds is an outstanding time for a Racing Technics E36 318 running standard compression.

The brakes are getting upgraded this Wednesday. After that, I'll be swapping over to a better engine managament, then a new set of RT lightweight rims. 17"x7.5 for fronts and 17"x8.5 rears. Hopefully with 255 rears, it will provide the car with the proper traction needed for the launch.

The clutch is also on the list, but it will have to be changed over when the clutch wears out. The new clutch will be a lighter and provide better clampage. I can't wait till that happens.
