Reality check - I was paying $4,000 a year on insurance when I got my BMW at the age of 21. It dropped a lot when I turned 22 and 1/2 (5 years driving experience) but it's still OVER $2,000 a year.
I'm not telling this to piss you off, I'm just letting you know what to expect when you're ready to buy.
: I know what you mean, I only have 3 semesters left at Purdue and my first order of business after I graduate is to place my order for the new E46. Ive been waiting and waiting, and it sucks!!! but hey the M3 is the light at the end of my engineering school tunnel, so I guess it will all pay off in the end..... I think ill be ok at 22 affording my own M3.
: p.s. what does insurance run? im thinking about 2k.
