I'm getting desperate, I think I'll just get a E30 or maybe a cheap, (gasp!) non-bimmer for now till I get some much needed $$$. Well, thanks for listening, I'm really depressed... that's what this board does to me whenever I read it and it's fortune-filled comments.... =(

My first Bimmer was at 32 (went back to law school at 26), an '89 325i. You will be happy with a basic one for your first. They are that much fun to drive--even underpowered. If I was you, I would get a well maintained E30 M3. You get speed and handling at a good price. If you take good care of it you will get admiring stares from guys driving new 540i's. Actually, they are envious stares because if they weren't married they would have their 540i and an e30 M3.
