: : I have a 4 mo old M3 which I'm loving....The question is, when the E46 finally gets here, do I trade in my beloved but barely used E36 for the E46, or do I keep the E36 and get a Dinan/BMW dealer to install the Dinan SC.

: : Dinan SC will get me to 60 mph in about 4.7 sec and quarter mile in low 13s. E46 will probably be close, but a few ticks slower....But speed is only one factor in the fun equation....

: : The SC option would cost me under $10K..the E46 option would cost me about double that.

: : Tough choice.

: i know one of the car rags did some tests on a couple Dinan SCd E36 M3s. their 0-60 times and 1/4 mile times were not significantly different than stock (in fact one was SLOWER than stock)

: IMO- if you got the money, go E46

Boy, Bruce, have you got you fact wrong!! The test which was done was the Car and DRiver test. However they did NOT test the SC car, but rather one with a performance software upgrade only! A while back the Dinan Supercharged cars WERE tested, and they showed 0-60 times around 4.7 and low 13s quarter mile. No dinan supercharged car ever tested in the magazines did SLOWER than stock.....You are mixing up your tests.
