I have installed a 6PSI ESS PD supercharger kit on my '99 328i sedan. The kit was 4495.00 + 89.00 in freight. (They have a distribution center in California)
The kit came complete with VERY good component quality, no weird hose colors eighter, all black, and a detailed instruction manual with 15 color pictures of an actual installation.
It all installed easily in 8 hours (they claim 6, but make that 8 if you are not a skilled mechanic...) For fueling they use a device called ESS BCU, which is a electronic "box" which alters the MAF signals and operates an additional 600cc injector mounted in the SC outlet pipe. The systems feels boost pressure and adjust accordingly to the RPM range through a signal wire from one coil. Installation looks factory and i have no doubt it is producing the 300HP they claim, it is much faster than my friends 96 M3 w/JC chip and exhaust. I haven't dynoed the car yet, but as soon as I do I will let you guys know how it turns out. They also offer a stage 2 system with custom head gasket and 9PSI of boost, and they told me that they are develoing a intercooled stage 3 system also, 380+ HP sounds like fun. They have a 1 year complete warranty. And here is the good part : if you buy a new car and have the BMW dealer install the system, ESS warrants the entire engine/driveline for the same amount of time as the factory warranty. My experiance with ESS is very good, and I can recommend it to you all.
