: Just talked to my local dealer today, and he just
: got back from some sort of conference down in south
: carolina. He talked to the M products USA rep
: about the next generation m3 and this is what he
: found out:

: The engine will not be a 3.4 liter but will remain
: 3.2 liters, but will put out 340 horsepower.

: The new engine will be in the M coupe and M
: roadster, but because their chassis' can't handle
: as much power, they will be limited to 320 horses.

: The upgraded coupe and roadster will come out in
: six months to a year; possibly before the new M3.

But not true it will be a world car and I have seen it as well, it was 3.4l. The coupe and roadster will continue to have a 3.2l. I was told the same thing from BMW about 4 months ago, 3.2l for the U.S.A. the reason being that BMW did not want to give us the power jump from 240-340 in one model change (bull shit I say whats 20hp) the 3.2l will be built in Spartenburg and the 3.4l in Germany. It will be 3.4l ABOUT 340hp for all e46 M3's.
