Here's a msg sent to me by one of our military sales persons. I'm chomping at the bit like the rest of you for the car to be released. What follows is the original msg sent to me:

Dear Mr. Steele,
The earliest we will see a E46 M3 version will be sometime at the end of 2001 for MY2002. Normally it
will take 2 years after the launch of a new Coupe,to develop a final "road approved" M3 version.
As for "Other options" available to European deliveries, the answer is a "Conditional" YES!!.
Conditional as long as the option you are asking it's available to the European version of the same
model. In other words, if you are ordering a Series 3, you can not ask for something that's available
exclusively to the 5 nor 7 Series.
