Atlanta area. No negotiation on price other than dealer agrees to sell at MSRP...nothing more. $1000 deposit here required. Refundable until the point next summer when actual order is placed for the car. At that point price will certainly be determined.

I actually had some concerns regarding paying full MSRP as I have never paid MSRP for any vehicle, i.e. possibility of discounts to buyers who wait. I asked dealer about the rumor regarding changes in dealer holdback. They indicated that holdback has been increased but dealer discount decreased and that dealer had to meet volume quotas to get the holdback. Basically, his feeling was dealer discounting may be less in the future due to uncertainty of getting holdbacks from BMW.

Hey...take it with a grain of salt as info did come from the dealer but I would be curious if someone else could confirm.

: Just wondering for those of you who put down deposit, do you negotiate the price of the car? If yes, how much is it?
: I am afraid that the dealers in Bay area here will be mark up the price for +10K or even more............
