In Atlanta area waiting list was 4 deep as of Thursday. People that wait until final pricing and options are announced will probably be waiting until 2001 to get delivery on the car.

:
: Pretty much. In my area there are about 7-8 people on each waiting list. M5s are already solidly booked for the next year.

: : :
: : : My dealer took the deposit now just for being on the waitlist. I'll get to pick my color and option when the details are known in may. The dealer also said that I might not be able to specify those options until august, right before production of my vehicle.

: : : : For all of those posters who claim to be on waiting
: : : : lists and have E46 M3 on order. How did you order
: : : : a car without knowing the available interior colors
: : : : and options,exterior colors and the various packages
: : : : that will be available for the car when there is no
: : : : information on these items and the final production
: : : : model isn't even being produced yet?

: : : : I am very curious how anyone in could put money down on a car that you are not really even sure what it will look like.

: : Thank you for answering my question.
: : So I gather everyone is just on waiting list.
