I was able to try my hands at the Vette at a recent GM test drive event. And I'd rate the handling (based on a short autocross type circuit) to be about on par with that of the M3. The 'Vette seems like a more difficult car to get used to, but once you've spent sufficient seat time, I'd think it'd be comparable to the M3. The strength of the M3 is that you could be completely unfamiliar with the car and just sit down and start driving like a maniac safely and comfortably. That's probably why C&D likes it. But it doesn't imply that the 'Vette is less of a handler for an experienced driver. The differences are more of a result of different user preferences, ie. subjective differences instead of objective differences.
Nope, I'm no 'Vette convert. I'm waiting for the E46 M3. But just to be fair to the competition.
