: You don't think that all that power and light weight are too much even for traction control?
: : They've got traction control, it snows plenty in Germany, you'll have excellent road feel, they have limited slip differentials, and the reasons why it will work could go on and on.

Until the FIA changed the rules a few years back, the top Formula 1 cars used traction control with great success. Those cars had power (700+ hp) and were very light in weight (near 1500lbs). In other words, with the right alogrithm and the processing power to match, almost anything man-made can be controlled to within the limits of physics.

The traction of any car is determined more by the tires than by the electronics backing them up. The electronics "simply" maximize the available traction of the tires and help the driver keep the vehicle under control when they go "brain dead", as can happen to anyone. Just ask Mika Hakkinen, 1999 F1 Champion.
