The 911tt will run 0-60 MPH in 3.7 seconds so it has nothing to fear.

There current M3 runs 0-60 in what....5.5 seconds give or take a bit. There is no way that the new M3 will run a second faster. People keep making the mistake the HP = acceleration...it doesn't. Torque makes all the difference, HP = top speed and high speed acceleration. I will be VERY surprised if the E46 M3 can even break 5.0 seconds....I'm guessing 5.1 to 5.2. You have to remember that the torgue numbers on this engine are not increasing anywhere near as much as the HP numbers. Also, gearing is still unknown. This car could have a V-12 and run 0-60 in 7.5 seconds with tall gearing.

In any event, all this is conjecture at this point. I think the only thing we can count on is that the M3 won't be as fast as the M5.
