: There is no way the new M3 will achieve 4.5 seconds. I agree with DC that it may not even break 5 seconds. Although the M3 will have a lot of HP, it's torque is good but not amazing. Plus without fat rear tires it would be hard getting that power to the ground. Look at the current M3 in Europe. It has around 320 HP and is it anywhere close to 4.5 seconds. The new M3 will be fast but not that fast.
: : This board is great. However, let's put an end to the engine speculation. I know engineers inside BMW. The car will be 3.4L. The HP will be 345 and the torque will be close to 300. The car absolutly screams. I'm not kidding when I say that the car will come out of the factory with posted 4.9sec 0-60. Watch when Car&D get a hold of this beast. The number will be around 4.5.
: : Expected delivery into the US is September 2000.
: : I wouldn't consider any other car if you are going to spend between 48 and 52K. This is the car.
What did Car & D post with the new M5. 4.7sec. This car will come out of the factory with a BMW posted 4.9 number. The new M Coupe when fit with the new 3.4L engine will get very close to 4. Estimates are for 4.2-4.4.
