Here's the response I received via e-mail from BMW AG when I inquired about the availability of the E46 M3 in the U.S.:

Hello,

Thank you very much for your interest in the M3. As it will only be available from autumn next year, we don't have a special websection for the M3 yet. But still you can see the new M3 Coupe on the IAA Webspecial of the
BMW Group:
Please check the following URL for more pictures and details on the M3:

http://www.iaa.bmw.com

In the section premieres there you will find a whole page on the M3 and furthermore you can see Beatyshots and a Quicktime VR on the M3 on the IAA Insite page in the same section.
