Before I start, this info comes from people I know in the UK, not directly from the people I know at BMW.

As I stated before the engine is 3.4L and will produce 345hp and just over 300lbs torque. New news is that the late 00' delivery schedule is now real. Forget all the bull about spring 00'. They are still playing with the gearing.
The interior is also up for grabs. Early money is on M5 look alike. The reason here is simple. You want 4 doors, you buy the M5 beast. You want a coupe you buy Jr. the 345hp junior brother M3.

Two major reasons for the delay.

1) Business is so good right now why waste the splash of this car. Talk to any of your dealers, what is the wait for an M5, X5, 328CI with the sport package. They don't need the M3 to enhance business.

2)When engineers get working on something they continue to refine. Without a need to rush this into the market place, they continue to play. Don't think for a minute that they couldn't have had this monster ready on day one for release to the public. There is no time table pushing them expect us.

When it does roll out be ready one of the best sports cars built in the last 25 years. I don't count the over $100k cars in the same class.

Happy Holidays, " Buy your radar detectors now"
