Ron, get a book entitled "BMW M-series",
by Chris Rees. It's a British book, but available in the US for $25. It explains ALL M cars up to the M Coupe/Roadster, including the McLaren F1.
It has production #s and serial #s, and explains all things "///M". It's small, red, and has a red M roadster on the cover. Try Borders.
