NSX vs. M3 (E36 and E46) (archive)

I was driving around last night and I saw an NSX, he pulled right next to me and then he stepped on it and just took off like a bullet. I didn't even bother chasing in him. I knew NSXs were fast but I didn't know they were that fast. What are my chances once I get my E46? what if My E36 was modified? Any thoughts or experiences? I've never driven one are they fun? how do they compare to M3s?
