: I want to buy a BMW. I am from upstate NY and we do get a good amount of snow and ice on any given winter. Everyone is telling me I am crazy buying a BMW because of the snow...are they really that bad? Are there any people who drive BMW's in the snow that could perhaps give me there opinions on this matter. All replies are greatly appreciated. thanks

I was also a bit concerned about driving a rwd car in the winter, but now that I've tried it I wouldn't ever trade my old Jetta back! Snow tires (in my case Gislaved), ABS and ASC+T makes the car so easy to drive anyone can do it. And if you want to have some fun, disconnect the ASC+T and go play in the snow. Great fun!
