Let get real, yes the M3 will have 340 ponnies, but it won't go 0-60 in low fours, like is 4.9 or maybe even 4.8, i do hope lower, but TOURQUE is the key word here, and tourque is mostly controlled by displacment and 3.4 isn't enougth, the fact is that it is enougth, but if you do remember the M3 is not a lite car, but it will have 18 inch tires to put the power to the ground, but the M3 is tunned for everyday driving also this is the same reason why the NSX with 290 bhp and the 996 with 300 bhp are both significantly faster than the European spec M3 with 321 bhp. I know BMW knows this, and I know that if they really wanted to they could get 340 bhp out of the the current 3.2 engine, but they probably wanted more torque, but don't try to think that .2 liter increase withh move the car a whole second faster to 60, after all the first increase from 3.0 to 3.2 only moved the car .2 seconds faster to 60. Yes the new engine will be more advanced will Valve Times Technology, but remmeber to get power out of an engine in this fashion one must rev higher than normal, look at the ultimate in high power to liter output, the S2000 get 240 bhp out of a 2.0 four cylinder, notice the 8,900 rpm red line? and thats just a shift warning, the word is that you can go even higher.

I repeat myself the m3 will probably go 0-60 in 4.9 or 4.8, not 4.2 or 4.5 or anything close to low 4s and evidence look at the 400 bhp v8 m powered z8 from james bond, that car goes 0 - 60 in 4.2 seconds weights less than the new m3 and has way more power and tourque, you'd think that the M3 can't keep up right, well it can't, and won't, you see..:-)
