I don't care so much about the "max" HP spec since it may well come at an rpm range that becomes impractical. Plus, I no longer care about stop light race events. Give me a car with outstanding performance and value (for my wallet) like the old M3. I don't need to compete with Porsche turbos.

However, raise the price too much and I will look carefully at that used Carrera 4 for similar price. It also sounds like there will be quite a few low mileage used M3's available once the production of E46M3's gets going. The price of these should drop too.
