: What makes you think BMW reads the blather on this board? By all means, convince them to charge much less. MSRP base of E36M3 was officially $39,700 until factory shut down in April 1999. A healthy 10% (more than 7X all other model increases in the past three years) would be $43,670.

I've got my deposit down at a dealer here in Denver. If BMW bumps the price to $50K+, I'll be bailing. I really would like the M3 in a 4dr sedan, and at that high price, I might as well get a 6 speed 540i. That is if I can really motivate myself to spend that kind of money on a car.
